The fee is to keep people from undercutting other auctioners. It's different from a virtual auction with fake money because its your REAL money, Their income is not dependent on the fee system it's dependent soley on the sale of the game and expansions. Either way, it's optional so what do you care?

Obviously, but you can't deny the fact that many people were getting ripped off in D2. Account hacking, credit card fraud, or just out right theft of money without ever delivering the item to the player. This system gives players a much safer environment in which to do it in. Blizzard takes a cut? Why shouldn't they? It is there IP and in any event they take a fixed amount. We always know what that will be and the price of items will reflect this. Just like in the real world.

I hate this idea, ...

I hate this idea, money /in/ games is something I can't handle. Money is stressful. Games are stress relief. Yes I pay money for games, Yes I could put up with a WoW subscription, but my performance in the game never had an impact on money.I'm just worried that I won't be able to compete or I won't worth while in the game to other people because I don't want to involve money in my game. Maybe it won't matter, maybe I won't notice, but I really wish it just wasn't there.

It wont affect you because youre not buying or selling. Youre just playing the game. Somebody wants to spend 12hrs a day trying to make a living. Good luck. Hey blizzard. Why not sell level ups because 3rd parties were selling those too. Why not sell us bots and maphacks because 3rd parties were doing it anyway and it would "counter" those guys. And it would make it "safer" for us. BITCH PLEASE Don't kid yourself if you think blizzards RMAH was designed because they actually cared for your safety and convenience. They did it to profit off your need to have "rare" and "powerful" gear as observed in various RPG games.

thing is, you aren't playing agaisnt annyone. you're fighting the computer. (there is SOME pvp but it's a small part of the game) i see this as a way to, if you're hardcore enough, to make some money from gaming. i love it
