I FEEL THERE IS AN ENORMOUS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOLDING AN ACTUAL BOOK IN ONE'S HAND VERSUS AN E-READER. NOT THAT READING FROM AN E-READER IS BAD, BUT I FEEL THAT WHEN WE HAVE A GOOD THING, WHY MUST THERE ALWAYS BE UPGRADES? E.G. THE TURN-TABLE. THEY ARE PIECES OF FURNITURE, AND RECORD ALBUMS ARE HEIRLOOMS. LIKEWISE WITH BOOKS. ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITTANICA RECENTLY STOPPED PRINTING. EVERYTHING IS BEING 'DIGITIZED.' WHAT'S NEXT AND HOW FAR WILL IT GO?

My revision course ...

My revision course asked us to take a look at this video our first week. I love it! Cant wait to share it. Loved the music too. All the wondeful hours I've spent with my nose in a book being transported hither and you and now it's my turn to create a journey for someone else to take! I hope one day my book winds up at TYPE!

Very clever and unique - I shall spread the word about this video :D Has anyone tried the generals by appleflea - its a stop motion video set during a nuclear attack and made entirely from childhood heros like action man, barbie, postman pat, the teletubbies, wheres wally, kermit and loads of others - Its the best thing i've seen for ages - funny, poignant, nostalgic and totally awesome - give that one a try sometime :D

This video is amazing! I'm one of those who adore the feeling of a book in my hands, as opposed to a tablet. The heft of the book, turning the pages, and most importantly the embossing or different textures on the covers and pages. Long live actual books.

my wife made me a stop motion video for one of my songs, it's called the generals, by "appleflea" well worth a watch, it took 10months to complete, but I love her for it anyway. take a look, it's on youtube, this one is very good by the way thumbs up.

this video signifies what life, and being human, is all about. it is clear that many, many eyes and hands and heads and hearts came together to create this captivating clip. life is art. art is creation. and regardless of what was done here, something NEW was created. the profundity lies in the fact that books mirror life. i hope to see more like this one!

Guys! Stop arguing ...

Guys! Stop arguing about if ereaders or books are better. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. There is nothing wrong with change and a new medium of reading and having physical records of a book. An example of pros and cons for both is if better to break one book than it to break a kindle. Though kindles are more convenient. Books have a much better battery life than a kindle

Can we see an adaptation with an ereader?

There is ZERO ...

There is ZERO competition between physical books and e-readers. I can carry around 2000 books in the palm of my hands, anywhere, access on any device, bookmark and search every single one, store and share quotes, get many classics for free, listen to atmospheric music through the same device, categorize, download 'previews' of books..who cares about the smell and feel of a book? Is that what you are, a person of appearance? You should place emphasis on the content.
