Прага. день 2. Музики на Карловому мосту
Карловий міст овіяний десятками легенд, переказів та історичних фактів. Будучи популярною атракцією чеської столиці й добре впізнаваним об'єктом у світі він за сучасності нерідко використовується в мас-культурі (кіно, комп'ютерні ігри, реклама тощо): Існує напівісторичне повір'я, що король Карл IV заклав наріжний камінь Карлового мосту 9 червня 1357 року о 5 годині 31 хвилині — таким чином, момент закладення мосту утворює цифровий паліндром 1-3-5-7-9-7-5-3-1. Зігдно з переказом з Карлового мосту скинули шанованого у Чехії святого Яна Непомуцького. І начебто в місці, де його тіло ввійшло у води Влтави, над водою виникло сяйво у вигляді 5 зірок. Саме тому Непомуцький віттоді зображується з п'ятьма зірками над головою (див. фото праворуч). Місце ж, біля якого, начебто, скидували Яна через поручні, можна побачити праворуч на шляху до Малої Страни — воно відмічено вмурованим у стінку мосту хрестом і двома мідяними гвіздками поруч. До 1908 року Карловим мостом проходила кінно-залізна дорога. У 1905 році її електрифікували, після чого нею пересувався трамвай з підключенням до струму знизу, та вже за три роки (1908) цей маршрут припинив своє існування. У теперішній час Карловий міст, як зображення, або як локація для зйомок фільмів, використовувався: у стрічках Брайана Де Пальми «Міссія нейздійсненна» (1996, у фільмі на мосту навіть вбивають одного з персонажів) та Роба Коена «Три ікси» (2002), фігурує в рекламному ролику Тима Бертона й коміксі Крейга Рассела «The Vampire of ...

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sinfonia no. 38, K. 504 "Praga" "Su hijo es el mayor compositor que jamas haya conocido." Estas fueron las palabras que Haydn dirigio a Leopold Mozart, el padre del compositor. Tambien Goethe, despues de la muerte del musico, comentó a Eckermann en sus Conversaciones que "Mozart es inlcanzable en el terreno de la musica, y Shakespeare lo es en de la poesia". Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart nacio en Salzburgo, en enero de 1756. La precocidad de su talento hizo que a los cinco años tocara el clave con rara fluidez y esbozara las primeras partituras, unas breves obras para tecla; ello determino a Leopold a organizar largas giras exhibiendo al pequeño maestro (junto a su hermana Nannerl) en las mas distinguidas cortes europeas y las principales ciudades del continente. Asi lo hallamos en 1763 en Versalles, y poco despues en Londres, donde conocio a Johann Cristian Bach. En 1765 ofrecio numerosas veladas musicales en los Paises Bajos, Paris y algunas ciudades alemanas. El prestigio le valio, tras su regreso a Salzburgo en 1768, el nombramiento de "Maestro de conciertos de la corte", un cargo honorifico. Pero su idea , o mejor, la de Leopold, era triunfar en Italia, a donde padre e hijo partieron en 1769. Ese constante trasiego, a menudo realizado en las condiciones mas deplorables , acabo minando la salud de mi maestro y todavia adolescente Wolfgang, que, entre fatigas, estreno en Milan su opera Mitridate en 1770, el año que le fue concedida la espuela de oro ...

Jan Svankmajer - Kurzfilm - The Flat Pt:1 (1968)
Jan Švankmajer (born 4 September 1934 in Prague) is a Czech surrealist artist. His work spans several media. He is known for his surreal animations and features, which have greatly influenced other artists such as Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam, The Brothers Quay and many others. Švankmajer has gained a reputation over several decades for his distinctive use of stop-motion technique, and his ability to make surreal, nightmarish and yet somehow funny pictures. He is still making films in Prague at the time of writing. Švankmajer's trademarks include very exaggerated sounds, often creating a very strange effect in all eating scenes. He often uses very sped-up sequences when people walk and interact. His movies often involve inanimate objects coming alive and being brought to life through stop-motion. Food is a favourite subject and medium. Stop-motion features in most of his work, though his feature films also include live action to varying degrees. A lot of his movies, like the short film Down to the Cellar, are made from a child's perspective, while at the same time often having a truly disturbing and even aggressive nature. In 1972 the communist authorities banned him from making films, and many of his later films were banned. He was almost unknown in the West until the early 1980s.
