Brian Lara hits a scintillating century at Kensington Oval for the second time in 2005. He was already scorching along at better than a run-a-ball at lunch, but in the afternoon session he really cut loose. He peppered the boundary all round the ground and by the time he fell, shortly before tea, he had faced just 120 balls. He made a calculated attack on the Pakistani spinners - Danish Kaneria and Shahid Afridi - to such an extent that Kaneria was removed from the attack after eight expensive over as Younis Khan, Pakistan's stand-in captain, tried to restrain Lara. The seamers were not exempt from the full force of Lara's bat, either, as he brought out his full array of drives, cuts and pulls. Anything seemed possible until he was bowled through the gate by Kaneria - after the legpsinner was bravely brought back into bowl - as Lara aimed another expansive drive through the covers. The Shin Meiwa PS-1 and US-1A are large STOL aircraft designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and air-sea rescue (SAR) work respectively. The PS-1 was a flying boat which carried its own beaching gear on board, while the US-1A is a true amphibian. In 1960, Shin Meiwa demonstrated a prototype flying boat, the UF-XS that featured a novel boundary layer control system to provide enhanced STOL performance. The company also built upon its wartime experience (as Kawanishi) to refine the Grumman Albatross hull that the aircraft was based on. In 1966, the JMSDF awarded the company a contract to further develop these ideas into an ASW patrol aircraft. Two prototypes were built under the designation PS-X and flight tests began on October 5, 1967, leading to an order for production under the designation PS-1 in 1969.

A supremely calm MS Dhoni guided India to victory, with two balls to spare, over a sluggish Australia in the ODI at Adelaide Oval. Dhoni's composure was best measured by how he paced his innings. It bordered on the statuesque early, before he raised tempo with swift running between the wickets. He saved his one stroke to the boundary - a towering six over long on - for when he most needed it: the third ball of the final over delivered by Clint McKay, which began with 13 still required. The next ball was a high full toss that Dhoni swung to deep midwicket, but the no-ball - called for height - gifted India a third run in addition to the two scampered between the wickets. The next delivery was helped around to backward square leg, and the final three runs were collected and finally India stealed a thrilling victory
